Sandi Timmins | Small Business & Non-Profit Specialist

Sandi's expertise is in working with small to mid-sized companies and non-profit organizations. Sandi began her career in retail management, but her obvious capability quickly led to greater responsibility, and she was soon asked to take on recruiting and training companywide. Her success was such that it garnered the attention of an entirely different industry — one that was struggling in the face of new and dynamic competition. In 1983, Sandi entered the male dominated world of newspaper circulation with a management position at The Baltimore Sun.

During her tenure at The Baltimore Sun, Sandi oversaw a major shift in approach — both philosophical and practical — that took circulation out of the purview of administration and recreated it into a client-focused, customer service department. Her efforts didn't go unnoticed. In 1985, Sandi joined the fledgling national newspaper, USA TODAY, tasked with the job of introducing cutting-edge technology and tactics to an industry that had previously operated with a pencil-and-paper mentality. The resulting national customer service center that Sandi created at USA TODAY was a model operation that attracted more than 300 business visitors a year to see, firsthand, how it worked and how to replicate the model.

Twelve years later, having helped USA TODAY achieve success and profitability, Sandi walked away from it all and created Primary Resource Group, Inc. to help small organizations grow and maximize their potential. Sandi works directly with Owners, Directors and Boards, helping them uncover and address the root causes of inefficiencies within their organizations. Through situational assessment, strategic planning and implementation services that include oversight, training and coaching, Primary Resource Group, Inc. has consistently helped its clients meet their objective.

Joe Timmins | Strategic & Structural Specialist

Joe spent the last decade in the dynamic, ever-changing and ever-challenging big business environment of financial services. As Senior VP and Head of Global Human Resources & Real Estate for the $4.6 billion asset management firm, Legg Mason, Joe created and led a first class HR service team, twice! First, for the Legg Mason he joined in 1997 and then, again, when Legg acquired Citigroup's $2 billion Asset Management Division and simultaneously divested itself of a 3,500 employee brokerage business. Enough to make most heads spin, Joe effectively devised integration strategies that kept corporate culture intact and in sync with the company's new business profile.

Joe's ability to create a strong team environment yielding operational excellence was a direct result of nearly twenty years' experience in the brutally competitive world of retail, most notably with Jos. A. Bank Clothiers — a $200 million retailer and manufacturer of tailored clothing. Over 13 years there, Joe did it all, including a direct stint heading up store operations for over 70 retail outlets. But it was in his role as VP, Human Resources that Joe honed his skills as a thinker and doer — guiding all levels of management in strategic planning, staff development, compensation and benefit issues, arbitrations, government compliance, and countless legal proceedings — across multiple sites, union and non-union environments.

Through it all, Joe never lost sight of his bedrock belief: Getting the basics right every time is what builds customer confidence and loyalty.
